1. Location of collection:  Whitewater Preserve, California.
2. Date of collection:  3-16-2014.
3. Habitat of collection:  High desert scrub.
4. Length (from head to gaster):  4mm to 4.5mm.
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:  All dark brown with bottom of face lighter.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: 
7. Anything else distinctive:  Extremely fast moving.
8. Nest description:  Small holes in sand with excavated sand scattered around it.

My guess is either M. perimeces or M. yuma. After keying it out I ended up with M. perimeces, but supposedly those are only found in Northern Baja California, so my next best guess would be M. yuma. The shape of the head just doesn't look much like M. yuma though.
