2. Date of collection: 5/13/2017
3. Habitat of collection: Backyard
4. Length (from head to gaster): ~5mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: See images
6. Characteristics: Very fast movement speed and recovery from chilling.

I would say a Formica species from the fusca species-group.
