Recontiniued! :D

Update 10/9/2014

Well, I now have four queens again, and fungus thanks again to Drew. :yahoo: This time I will be more careful, and I am going to get agar over the weekend. There will be no failiure accepted this time. If I see one quen is not caring for it, by 24 hours, a different queen will be in there.

Drew did not do anything with his fungus, the fungus is the work of the ants. :)

ll of these are rejects except for one. :(

But as long as that one is fertile, then that is enough! :D

Yeah, they were pretty hungry again, although there is a lot of substrate on the one that did not reject the fungus.

Update: 10/10/2014

This is not an update, but CHECK THIS OUT!!! So two or so weeks ago, (when I still had the last fungus) my single non-reject queen fell over into mushy, wet, moist chiclid pellets, and got it all over the left side of her gaster. Well today, I saw this! :yahoo: Her fungus growing on the side of her gaster. Apparently this happens in the wild too, and I know a lot of people (including myself) have brought home queens in hopes of them having this:

Fungus Update:

Plenty of substrate has seemed to be added, and new fuzzy hairs are growing on it. :)

Yeah, a couple of my queens had what looked like white afros growing on their thorax. The fungus garden is lookin' good.

Another reject queen died today. :( If I would not have gotten a few more from Drew, I would be down to only the one you see in the above pictures.

Also, the fungus seems a bit less fuzzy today. :(

I have three left, and it is not ideal when it is not fuzzy, but the fungus growing on her is super fuzzy! :D

That the hell is this!? This is the most vibrantly colored bacteria I have ever seen. It may be the same bacteria that turns some of my test tube water pink? Well this time it is growing in the substrate of the non-reject queen's test tube!  :excl:  :excl:  :excl: Tell me this is not dangerous. The substrate itself is brown, all the pink-red-violet you see is the bacteria /slime mold/ mold/ unidentified organism.

Well, the queen and fungus are moved now, hopefully it did not follow them into the new test tube.  :panic:
