Today I heard screeching when I was on the deck having a smoke and I finally found the source, two bald eagles whirling around each other right above our house and through the treetops.  They were doing that thing where they hold claws and spin around each other.  Amazing-they are extremely big birds.  I thought they were big when I first saw them, the black against the clouds, and then I realized I hadn't noticed their white heads and white tails against the white of the clouds.  They were even bigger than I first thought!  A very impressive bird.

Awesome! When I was a kid, you’d NEVER see eagles. Now I see them more and more. Their comeback as a species is a truly wonderful thing.

I’ve seen a huge increase in birds of prey in my area as well, namely red tailed hawks, bald eagles, and various kinds of falcon and kestrels.

When I lived in Oregon, birds of prey run rampant there and its awesome. They swoop down and take your livestock, though.. But its cool watching animals like chickens who know when to run for a thornbush before you even know there's a bird up ahead.

We have two Bald Eagles that live in a tree that is in our peninsula. It is pretty cool watching them hunt for fish in Kootenay Lake.

Having a bird feeder took on a whole new meaning last year when I saw a Cooper's Hawk sitting on top of it with a sparrow in his claws.

My father always said I had ants in my pants.
