Found in my backyard, lots of trees around, creek behind my backyard, about 7 mm long (not counting antenna), Western New York.
Was told that it is Lasius umbratus.

I may have seen the nuptial flight (in my driveway) yesterday because there were tons of ants around this size running around but I assumed they were just workers looking for food (maybe they were, never looked close enough to tell). If this is Lasius umbratus then what workers/species should I introduce to her. I have no preexisting Lasius colonies, only Prenolepis imparis in the founding stage and I highly doubt that they will work well together.
