If zoos with professional exhibits and material can't manage to raise the genus, I doubt any casual ant keeper will.

 

Good luck finding any sign of the ants themselves. Apparently raids take place during the night. You'll be lucky if you find a portion of such moving above ground. This is one of those ants one would appreciate for simply having seen them.

As much as I agree with you about the difficulty of keeping them, I need to point out that Neivamyrmex leonardi, here in the mountains around here, do in fact raid and move colony above ground, as I have seen this species often moving their own brood.

To add on to that they are smaller then other neivamyrmex species, and I believe they will be like keeping argentine ants, which i have already done

Except they are even larger, form larger colonies, sting, bite, and can chew through plastic.

argentine ants extended mexico to oregon. i doubt neivamyrmex could do that in the wild

Because they are a little more sensitive to cold does not matter.

I have failed to find Neivamyrmex Leonardi so far, yet i have only been on six trails. wish this experiment luck
