Shipping Queen ants across state borders is illegal, but within the same state you're OK.
By the way, did these fly by you yet? (if you are from MA)

Please note: Selling and shipping ants across state borders is illegal.
We need to add these to the myth thread. It is not illegal to ship ants across borders, however plant pests are illegal to ship over borders. Because there is no defined list of plant pests we assume all ants are excluded from being shipped, but you should be correct when saying this.
Also, you really should provide good pictures, location, brood, workers, etc with a price and proper spelling if you want to sell anything.

My apologies, Kevin, you are part correct but completely incorrect that you can just import ants without a permit.
I just called the USDA office. For shipping ants across state lines, it is REQUIRED to have a permit to import ants across state lines. Form PPQ526 The permit is Free, could take up 80+ days to receive and they have rules that you must abide by, including the chance of an inspection of where the ants will be kept.
"Because there is no defined list of plant pests we assume all ants are excluded from being shipped"
I did say that we don't ship ants across borders because we can assume that all ants are forbidden to be transported across state lines.

This is exactly what i meant by "bringing up shipping". Someone says they'll ship and everyone feels the need to let them know that it's illegal, regardless of how much they actually know on the subject. Then, the next guy feels the need to interject with what he/she feels is correct about your statement, completely disregarding the original reason the thread was made. Now, we have 8 replies to a thread, and only 1 of them was remotely constructive.
You guys are literally the issue.

I second that! look at the GAN farmers and Tar heel ants, you can't ship across borders.
All my colonies are dead.
Except:
Pogonomyrmex barbatus
Pheidole obscurithorax
Pheidole morens

Every single ant species this guy has ever listed, has been misspelled. Even his name. Whether or not shipping is really legal across state borders, I don't know, but I would not buy ants from anyone who comes across as so unprofessional.
THIS, is a very valid point... hmmmmmmm
