Cardiocondyla emeryi is common in my area, and even though the queens are 2mm and it is not very likely that I will find one, I want to know if anyone knows if they are semi-claustral just in case I do catch one. I think tiny species like these are very interesting.

Edit: Misread your question, sorry! I would say semi-claustral based on the queen's appearance

Yeah I was thinking they could be semi-claustral due to how small the queens gaster is, but Temnothorax are shaped like that as well, yet they are fully claustral. And I can't seem to find anything on the internet because I guess Cardiocondyla aren't very well known, so that's why I'm not sure

I'm too lazy to keep looking, but here's something to glance over. Here too. Google Scholar is great resource for poor people like me who no longer have access to professional publications. Just remember to view the PDF instead of clicking the link.
tl;dr Cindy guessed right; looks like semiclaustral is likely, but your species in particular can do budding. Sounds like you get to launch an invasion.
