I just captured this queen. We had a really hot day here in Brazil(33°), so some ants decided to fly really late.

Since it's quite hard to ID Camponotus in Brazil this post is more to share this ant than to get an ID, but if you want to spend some time trying to figure it out... Thanks.

Maybe Camponotus vittatus ?

Both queens removed their wings, and they laid eggs too, but I don't know from which ant they are from(or if they are from both). I decided to pick one of them and give the eggs, hopefully both will be able to raise a colony.

Also, when I was trying to separate them one escaped  :fool:  I looked all over my room and managed to find this(last image).

 

Should I make a journal about them?
