Hey folks. I came across a pretty affordable source of legitimate USG Hydrostone today and thought I'd share. Link.

Buying it on eBay is only $0.20 more per pound: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161556284672

that's where I bought mine because having 20lbs sitting around is more than enough for me...pretty sure its where Drew grabbed his too

When I consulted material experts on the formulation that has the best properties for antkeeping, I was advised to use labstone or hydrocal. Both are very hard and highly absorbent stones, much better than hydrostone.

Can you expand on the properties that were identified as being positive for ant keeping and why those products are superior to hydrostone?

Yeah, the issue with that seller is that it's unverified/off-brand Hydrostone. I've purchased from them before and I've had mixed results.
