I was wondering if I should put my ants into a Mini Hearth from Tar Heel Ants. Or keep my ants in a test tube until I get a bigger colony and then put them into a bigger set up or not. And is Tar Heel Ants a reliable place to get formicariums?

This is clearly an ant keeping topic and should be in the "General Ant Keeping" subforum. Please post in the proper subforums.

I say test tube then to larger formicaraia. Those founding chambers are a waste in my opinion.

Yes, but if you buy a bigger formicarium for a smaller colony, that is no good as the ants will use other chambers as garbage storage which Is not good for their health. And yes Tar Heel ants is amazing!

All my colonies are dead.

 Except:

  Pogonomyrmex barbatus

  Pheidole obscurithorax

  Pheidole morens
