I am looking to find other ant lovers in colorado.  I'm personally trying to find some queens or colonies.  It's tough this time of year.

It's a tough time this year because it hasn't officially began yet? The rains are just starting, a few weeks will bring the heat. Get your vials ready and carry them on you at all times.

I've got a nice lasius colony goin' on in my backyard already... Assuming I'll come across 10,000 tetramoriums again while Zero will find 4 dozen pogonomyrmex. 

 

Glad to see our numbers are growing! Up to 4!

I'm new to the hobby but I haven't had any luck here in lakewood yet. Hopefully they will start after the next rain.

Tetramorium had a huge flight today on the western slope!

I'm still getting rain off/on all day. Conveniently whenever I need to walk to another building actually.. 

 

It was about a year ago that there were tetramoriums EVERYWHERE. Prepare to have them out the whazoo. Carry your tubes with you at all times!

Be on the ready over on your side of the state. Tons flew yesterday, not a single one spotted today so looks like I got lucky and caught the one day they were out. So glad I had my little paint caps with me at the time as I was already on my way to work when I saw them!

I'm gettin' rain right now. Going fishing Sunday and Monday. I don't know if I'll find any queens but I come across MASSIVE Pogonomyrmex colonies.

there are quite a few massive Pogonomyrmex colonies over by my house, as well as colonies scattered all over the park and open space by my house.

I'm hopin for a Pogonomyrmex as well, but aren't nearly as many of them in the city and don't have much time to spend out in the desert.

 

Did any of you other Grand Junction/Western Slope guys have any luck on Wednesday like I did?

Call me #5 then. Also finding it difficult to get out of Denver with any regularity.

 

Been looking around Cheesman and seeing tons of Carpenters - any tips on urban Harvesters?

Where are the Grand Junction and Western Slope guys at? I have ants, with eggs, ready to go to a good home instead of to waste. Have 8 Tetramorium queens, with eggs, in tubes, ready to be given away free to anyone who is interested. I have a journal in the journal section if you guys want to see them and I am willing to give away up to 7 of them.

 

Tetramorium had another smaller flight this morning but I didn't grab any as I have more than enough.  Let me know if any of you guys are interested in some of the ones I want to give away.

I had more Tets than I knew what to do with last year.

I've found two Wingless-Tetramorium queens at work today, 6/12/2017. Just go outside and look down. They are all over the place.

Roughly about a year ago this time I began to find so many Tetramorium queens that I couldn't give them away. Get your game face on if it isn't already

Dethundrel, I sent you a message.  Not sure, but it looks like I caught a bunch of Tetramorium today in Grand Junction.  If they are a different ant, I'd love to take one of your Tetramorium off you hands.
