Caught in Spartanburg, SC
Caught on March 31
Caught near Flat dirt near small yard trees
Size: ~1cm
Has a Red/orange head, Yellow Body, Brownish gaster
Large Semi-circle Mandibles, Long antenna
Just sits and moves a little bit near a corner of my dirt bin

Please identify if this is a queen, and what species!

This might be either Campontous castaneus or Camponotus americanus. Can you provide better pictures?

I can get better pictures, however I will be leaving for a vacation very soon, also can you confirm that she is a queen?

That is a Camponotus castaneus worker I think

I agree with C. Castaneus but not sure if queen. We'll need better pics.(tip: Use some light when taking pics)
