It' s okay I guess. Some of my ants still go pass, but that doesn't happen very often

I think it's just meant to discourage, not harm.

It's used in organic fruit orchards, not so much for ant control, but aphid control. Aphids attack the fruit trees, and are then "farmed" by the ants for their honeydew. Organic farmers rely on ladybugs to control the aphids, however, the ants keep the ladybugs away to protect their aphids. The farmers wait until evening when the ants retreat back to their nest in the ground and then apply this product. This keeps the ants from getting back up into the trees and gives the ladybugs their chance to eat the aphids.

It's not poisonous to the ants, it is simply a deterrent.

But is it effective enough to use as an ant barrier for outworld enclosures?

It probably is enough for your Canadian ants... I wouldn't use it to enclose a mature Solenopsis xyloni colony or anything.

I'm thinking it might not be effective with Formica then. Formica run right over anything. It's so annoying.

My Formica moki can't get across a half inch band of talcum powder.
