I want to present you my mini-antfarm. I wonted to made something nice and tidy but not like acril constructions. They are very strict! I wanted to do somethig cozy.
What is it:
It construction is intended for small start colonies or species which have small amount of workers. For example Pseudoneoponera, some spesies of Meranoplus and Polyrhachis etc.
Materials:
The nest is made of plaster G-10. It's very strong mark of the plaster. Even such gnawing species as Messor can't gnaw it very much. Plaster nest is inside the acrilic box and doesn't contact with the wooden parts. The plaster nest can save the desired humidity for 5-7 days and more (if the air in you room is no so hot).
The front side is molded as the texture of badlands. I hope you will like this solution.
Size:
Diametr of the nest: 10 cm
Diametr of the whole antfarm: 12,5 cm
Thickness of the chambers: 0,8 cm
Thickness of the nest: 1,2 cm
Thickness of the whole antfarm: 2,8 cm
Inner diametr of adapter: 10 mm
Include plastic tube for connect antfarm with arena.
Construction was tested on Messor structor, Camponotus parius, Lasius niger.
