Awesome!

Myrmica pinetorum flight today. I found a winged queen in my bedroom.

Other comment that I was going to post:

Sigh... I'm sad...

If you haven't noticed yet, I'm sad.....

Why am I sad, you ask?
IT'S BECAUSE THE ONLY GOOD CREMATOGASTER FLIGHTS OCCUR DURING SCHOOL, AND ALL OF THE QUEENS MAGICALLY DISAPPEAR AT 2:15!

NOW I'M ANGRY

Nice catch, Salmon! I caught a B. depilis queen with two males attached to her. When she was done mating, I picked her up by her wings, inciting her to eject a tiny bit of sperm on my hand (EW)

Saw a Crematogaster dealate this afternoon in the north side of the Manchester, NH area.  Nothing locally where I live however.

Queens I saw yesterday:
Ponera pennsylvanica x1

Lasius umbratus x17

Lasius neoniger x31

Stigmatomma pallipes x4 (dead alates)

Brachymyrmex depilis x23

I kept the ponera queen. She ate a Brachymyrmex male and seems to be ready to start laying.

Today's meager haul at a local cemetery (dirt pits are where it's at by the way!) includes...

Tetramorium x 1

Myrmica sp.. x 3

Formica subsericea x 1

Also, collected a bunch of hollowed acorns to sort out later as entertainment for this evening  :D

I wonder if the Camponotus flights are late-season ejections; I saw a few last year during the drought.  There are a few parts of New England with dry conditions or drought;

The only fertile, fat queen I've found past spring of C. pennsylvanicus is my current queen. It seems like the only healthy queens fly in the spring.

An unknown Myrmica sp. flew in CT yesterday. I believe it is M. incompleta, but I am not sure. I was really busy yesterday, so I didn't have much time to do a thorough ID.

My ponera queen has laid her first egg! She's been on a steady diet of termite hatchlings.
