I found 17 Lasius neoniger queens today and one Lasius umbratus queen. Tons of drones too obviously.

At least 5 species of Lasius flew and 3 of them were parasitic. Aphaenogaster sp and Crematogaster sp flew but in small numbers. Most of them flew around 2:30pm to 6pm. Ill try to post some pics and videos later on.

Thank you! That was my guess too that I posted to the ID forum.  I spent a good hour or so going over photos thru the Ants of New England book.

Today is supposed to be warm again into the 80s, so guessing there may be more flights today :)

Saw tons of non- parasitic Lasius flying yesterday. Only a few parasitic queens.

Just found under rocks in my backyard:

Lasius umbratus female alate, with some wings missing,

2 pairs of Lasius claviger dealates coexisting together under rocks. I smelled one queen and no joke, I got dizzy from the overwhelming citronella smell.

Ponera pennsylvanica dealate! I kept her.

This morning I also was finding lots of males leftover under flat rocks from the flight last night.

Very small Lasius flight here today; handful of parasitic and non-parasitic ones.  No where near the flight last night in numbers.

What did you do with your Ponera?  I put some coconut fibers in with them in the test tubes (I think I read a suggestion from @batspiderfish about it.)   I believe they are not fully claustral, so we going to try starting with some of the springtails I have cultured.  Read they eventually take fruit flies?

Haha, literally just filled a giant test tube with coco fiber and plopped her in it as you posted that. I plan on feeding her whatever insect I have. I may consider placing some Springtails from outside in with her.

Solenopsis molesta flew but i'm not 100% sure on the species. Seems a little on the late side.

Brachymyrmex depilis flight going on right now. Caught one apparently dealate queen.

Also saw a couple Myrmica queens and parasitic Lasius running around.

I've been searching for Myrmica, but I haven't seen hide (exoskeleton) nor hair (antennae) of any.

I investigated a Crematogaster nest and found queens inside, so their flights aren't over.
