Dear jersians, if you are reading this the day its posted and there is still light outside, there seems to be MILLIONs of flying things and I am pretty sure its a nuptial flight, I also found what seems to be a drone on the floor outside.

So unless the nats decided its a nice day to bring every jersey nat outside then its a nuptial flight!

I'm guessing mainly of P. Imparis.

Good luck anting!

Ima go outside in like an hour cause it seems most of the flying started like 20 mins ago, so hopefully in an hour or so there will be ALOT on the ground.

Yeah, I doubt it - only 61F here and 20mph winds. Maybe your city is a bit different :/

Hit "Like This" if it helped.

I was just outside and saw tons of something swarming. The thing is though it is too cold and I believe them to be whatever gnat or midge or whatever has a similar-looking mating pattern at this time of year. They don't land on your shirt or get stuck in your arm hair the way P. imparis males do.

Well, ultimatley, there was hundreds of thousands flying around 3-4 PM, but like you said MrILoveTheAnts, it got cold fast. So they stopped before we could even catch them.

And kevin, there WAS alates, they just didn't get the chance to land.
