Today it was a sunny day and I went out to see if ants were already waking up. I found an active colony under a rock.
I'd really like to know what species these ants are because I want to know what's living in my garden. So, here are some pictures below. Hopefully they're good enough. The workers were about 3mm.

Location: Italy.

Looks to me like a Lepisiota species. Maybe L. melas, L. nigra, or L. frauenfeldi. From what I've read, this genera is notoriously invasive, although I personally like them for their colors and shape. Good Luck!
