I'm gonna start updating this now.

I have a 12 queen Crematogaster lineolata colony in a Tarheelants Casita. They currently have ~1000 workers and a ton of brood right now. The queens are all ~6mm. I feed them crickets and they have a liquid feeder for sunburst that I have to fill constantly.

Here is a picture of when they put their brood on the glass

Am I the only one who didn't think Crematogaster would be polygynous? Good on you (y)

Edit: Also, nice totally trashed outworld... no one is immune to these ants completely destroying their foraging area

Yeah these ants are slobs, and cleaning is impossible because you can't remove any trash without bunches of workers. This is my Nucleus foraging area after two months.

This colony is really fun. The queens have laid SO many eggs and most of the larvae are now pupae. I have been giving them a lot of crickets and had to refill their liquid feeder multiple times now.

This is one of the big egg piles, almost touching the ceiling of the chamber.

Recording with one hand is tough, but this video showcases the pure size of this colony...

The colony has been growing like crazy. All of the pupae and larvae from last update are now workers and the top two levels are mostly full. The queens are still healthy, and laying eggs. There appears to be alate larvae.

Awesome! Can’t wait to see the Alates, what do you plan to do with them once they hatch and they try to fly?

I am hopeful that there is enough genetic difference between the queens, and they will simply inbreed.

And if they don’t, will you have to just keep the lid closed / some net that guides them to some exit to the outside?

I already have a lid that has a hole in the middle, and the hole is coverable by magnets.
