No eggs. They even ate one of their own pupae, I could've damaged it or it may have been when they sprayed foam all over them.   To maintain a small colony I imagine these ants would only lay eggs for a short period of the year. An absence of eggs and larvae and only pupae being present would suggest this has occurred already in the recent past.

I've been very busy lately but managed to come up with a new design of formicarium especially for Pseudoneoponera sp or other big ants with small colonies.

Pseudo nest 1

Pretty much the same concept as my others but this time the hebel is supporting the tank.

Pseudo nest 2
Still have a bit to do before I can move "The Matrix" into their new nest.
Pseudo nest 3
Pseudoneoponera sp can't seem to climb glass so no lid is required for now.

Video of "The Matrix" moving into "The Crustacean". You may notice some ants trying to drag others into the safety of the nest. These could possibly be egg laying gamergates which the other ants realize are crucial to the survival of the colony.

While they settle in I have been observing them at night with a red light. I think this encounter was some sort of hierarchical display with one ant turning side on and directing antenna and gaster toward the other ant. Not sure which ant was the winner of this as the other ant didn't even seem to take notice.

Pretty neat. I've heard Harpegnathos do something similar.

The pupae have eclosed and the newborns aren't allowed to stray too far from the main group. Despite it's curiosity this new members adventure was short lived with an elder carrying her back to the main chamber.

I actually updated these guys in my Journey into Hebel/Ytong/AAC formicariums thread. We are coming into the colder months here in Australia and I don't think there will be much to report until it starts to warm again when I'm hoping to see some egg laying going on. Here is a pic of the girls trying out their new water tower.

The term "cold" should be outlawed in Australia.

Are these the same species? I found 3 different "groups" under logs, none had more than 4 ants. Saw no pupae. I didn't keep any.
