When you walk around in a field with a shovel and bucket until your neighbor has to ask what on earth you are digging for(not that this has ever happened before), you then follow her answer up by telling her you are digging for ants... sigh... this is going to take a while to explain you think to yourself...

You make an ingenious combination of a tennis racket, a meterstick, and a golf club to knock down a Camponotus queen from a tree branch.

AND

When your neighbour digs a termite killing poison trench and you secretly ruin their plan by saving portions of the colony to be released in the future

AND

When you happily give wild yellow jackets and ants honey just so you can watch them

When all you do in study hall is sign into the school computer and research ants while people stare.

Thankfully, I'm not that one yet, but I soon probably will be the ant-child or something.

when you yell at someone for killing a queen that land on them

While my family was camping a myrmica sp. queen landed on my dad. I stopped him right before he swatted it and then ran to the car to get a test tube.

Yeah, same with me. Everyone in my class thinks that I'm an expert on all insects, even though I'm only interested/knowledgable with ants.

When you see that queen on the ground but you don’t have a container so you use your hand

When you are outside with a friend and identify an ant species and there like what did you say?

When your friends know you like ants so they scream at you to come for every ant they see.

When you dig looking for ants by the side of the road and people keep on staring

I was at this forest with some trails ripping open logs looking for queens
Lady: What are you looking for
Me: Ants
Lady: Well there’s plenty at my house you should come over
Me: politely laugh and smile
Me: Thinks, but there just workers...

Part two of forest:
Other lady: What’s that your looking for
Me: ants
Lady: walks closer to see
Me: STAY AWAY THEIR FIRE ANTS

When you see your friend smushing a queen so you start yelling at him
Yeah this all is true.

When everyone around you says "oh yeah...it's that bug kid!'

When you risk falling into an algae, frog, and turtle-ridden pond just to catch a dynastes tityus female

When people start calling you for help whenever someone finds some sort of bug

When you spend your free time breaking apart rotten logs for any cool bugs

When you have an entire room/section in your house devoted for your pet ants and insects

When you start crying whenever someone steps on a bug

Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
