Does nobody actually look into what they're saying? I sell regularly via GAN, so i know what I'm talking about. They've yet to inform us or add any additional charges, so you're wrong.
Personally I think GAN is the most popular way to sell your ants, however not always convenient. I myself prefer to not be selling under another, if that makes sense. You can sell anywhere, there's no law that says Ants Canada is the only place, which is another thing I dislike about Ants Canada. The marketing persuasion to AC, which is working great for Mikey, is generally formatting everyone to AC as if it's the only company, considering he attracts so many new-comers. I've had countless people buy ants from me and say they already bought the AC nest, and they just want a colony.

Oooh, very good point. But i can't say i havent also picked up some formicaria customers via GAN. Most of my buyers had previously purchased from AC, but not all.

Or worse, it could be invasive pest ants like RIFA or Argentines. Actually they might not even be ants but termites (you wouldn't believe how many people confuse those two).Exactly... How can you sell something when you have no idea what your selling, and in my opinion, you must know your product before you consider selling... as you stated, it could just be a colony of workers.

This makes it pretty pointless for Europe where you can just buy ants from an online shop in UK, Germany, Spain or whatever - and yes, even exotic ones.Does nobody actually look into what they're saying? Like some people here have mentioned, a lot of those GAN rules posted on the website are old and out-dated. The only problems I used to have with GAN was all the manual transactions. Mikey is a busy guy, and some of the transactions would get a little mixed up. But now that there are no transactions going through him, that's not a problem anymore.
As for the guy selling the "Unidentified black ant species", that's a bit ridiculous. If you can't ID your ants to the genus level, or at the very least subfamily, I'm not sure you should be a GAN seller.
@dspdrew and @Loops117; thanks for clarifying their site is outdated, that makes me feel a lot better about it. Still not ideal, but not as bad as it looked.

While it may have you gain some traffic, the majority of people contacted to you via GAN, or at least a lot, will already have a nest, most likely from AC. By marketing under Mikey's name, you're making it easier for him to "take over" the ant world.

I do get a LOT of buyers that already have their AC formicarium ordered on the way. Sometimes it's a formicarium that isn't even compatible with the ants they are buying. I have asked Mikey on a few occasions if he knew they were buying an incompatible formicarium and he said no.
They should make a lot clearer on their page which formicarium is suitable for which ant species, especially regarding the average age of their customers. Because unlike they promote it the omni nest is NOT suitable for just any species.
