Hi, Drew. What is the rationale behind buyers being within a 155 mile radius from your home town?

How much would you sell just a little fungus of Acromyrmex versicolor for? Just the fungus.

Hi, Drew. What is the rationale behind buyers being within a 155 mile radius from your home town?

It's to keep ant species from being taken too far out of their native territory.

Well that is all going to depend on how much I have. Right now, I would charge probably 50 dollars for a little 3 mm diameter chunk. You saw how big the fungus garden is, so you can probably do the math. If it was twice the size it is, I would probably charge 25 dollars, and twice that size, 10 dollars, and so on.

At this point I would be willing to sell a small piece for 20 bucks.

How much Acromyrmex versicolor queens did you get? If you are willing to sell some I presume more than just a couple.

I would study up before getting the Acromyrmex versicolor- they are just about the neediest ants you can get here in Southern California, ever since I found out about them, they have been my focus- I spent most of summer gathering information, and I still failed at getting the fungus needed for their survival.

For the most part, you can actually experiment with anything to see what the accept. Drew uses fish pellets I think. Also, most plants work too, any clippings, as long as it is not a type of plant that is toxic to the fungus- which I know there are a few.

Meats, basically anything you would see that moves. Small animals, insects, other ants, they enjoy sugar here and there too.
