And Lasius niger is not present in California.

They are present, but they're rare as they probably came from hitching a ride.

I live there. There are plenty of harvester ants in Santa Clarita (Pogonomyrmex Californicus and Veromessor Andrei). They are quite common. Also I don't think Lasius Niger is native to CA.

You can use plastic to go sauce containers.

Are Veromessor pergandei polygonous or do they do pleometrosis?
