A few people have asked if there was going to be a smaller version of 'The View' for smaller ants.  Well there is and it has been in testing for some time and is ready for release.  http://anttopia.com/...&product_id=80 Hope you all enjoy.  :)

I have housed tapinoma sessile in one similar now for some time.  The queen is happy and new eggs are abundant, and best of all there have been no escapes that are preventable.  They are very good climbers and required a lip around the top with a barrier as well; as I use a extra virgin oil barrier.  And they scaled it pretty well.   But with the help of those ants, I know containment should be easy.

Looks, good. I assume this would work for a camponotous colony starting out as well? Got a good estimate as too how many it would hold?

Camponotus would be too large to fit through these chambers.

I'll need a nest for formica and lasisus sp. as well, so it's gotta work for one of them.

Should work fine for Lasius, this nest is tailored to the smalls for their comfort.  Formica queen may be pushing it for tunnel/chamber size.

Anoplolepis queens are 6/13 inch, workers are 1/7 inch.

So just about 11mm on the queen?  I would suggest the larger version then.  The narrowest chamber width of this nest is 3.33mm wide.

No Camponotus will be too large to fit into this nest.  They fit just fine in all the other acrylics though.  :)
