Location:  O'Neill Regional Park, Orange County, California.
Habitat:  Oak forest/Coastal sage scrub.
Coloration, hue and pattern:  All orange with slightly darker head and gaster.
Length:  3mm - 5mm.
Distinguishing characteristics:  Large eyes, long legs, wide range in their polymorphism
Nest had two entrances and was just a hole in the dirt, with no mound or litter of any sort around it.
These were out foraging about an hour before dark.

My guess is Myrmecocystus testaceus.
