Hi.
Today, I received a THA Mini Hearth. I put my Ochetellus in there, but now I think that the formicarium may be too large to house my two-queen one worker colony. Any tips on how to get them out, or should I keep them there?

Please help when you can! Thanks!
Please don't ignore this.. The ochetellus is my favorite colony.
I mean you gotta connect a test tube to it that's dark, so maybe put like some tin foil around the test tube, also don't hydrate their nest, you want to make the conditions in the formicarium worse that the test tube to make the test tube seem nice.
I strongly recommend that you keep them in there. Keep the nest sufficiently moist and warm, and provide food at the entrance to the nest. Keep us updated!

Put the heart into an outworld container together with a larger test tube. When they feel the nest is inappropriate they will move to the tube by themselves. Probably even before that because test tubes are better than mini-formicariums as they offer more stable conditions and no queen-stressing watering is required.

If it is inappropriate to move a colony into a formicarium without sufficient workers, it's also inappropriate to move them back out.
If you've enjoyed using my expertise and identifications, please do not create undue ecological risk by releasing your ants. The environment which we keep our pet insects is alien and oftentimes unsanitary, so ensure that wild populations stay safe by giving your ants the best care you can manage for the rest of their lives, as we must do with any other pet.
Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.
