Camponotus sp. and I don't think she's a queen.

1. Location of collection: wooded neighborhood

2. Date of collection: 7-24-15

3. Habitat of collection: back deck

 
4. Length (from head to gaster): 1/2 inch

5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: red, with black head

6. Distinguishing characteristics: almost see through

7. Anything else distinctive: not sure if its a queen. i can't see any scars
8. Nest description: n/a
