I started ant keeping a bit late in the year so I can't get a queen from a nuptial flight so I decided to buy one and got two solenopsis xyloni queens (no brood) I know solenopsis are good at escaping and grow very large colonies but I am up for the challenge of keeping them they have no brood and I just moved them to test tube setups and will update in a few days with pics

Ok so still no pics sorry one queen died the other had been alone for a few days no brood yet

Another update : the queen doesnt have brood she is eating them will brood boost her soon

What made you come to the conclusion that she is eating her brood instead of not laying any eggs at all? I would say the latter is more likely. Good luck!
