Is this a queen? I'm thinking she is as she has a rather big gaster for her size she is also VERY small. I have also seen very small workers where I found her, they could be her workers maybe?
Location found - New Zealand north island by a sink
When found - today 22/12/16
Length - 4mm long
I have put her in a test tube setup and put her in the dark.
If you need anymore information please ask.

I also found another one of these queens just now at the same spot. I caught her with 2 workers. Then put them in a tube and they seem to be getting on fine. What will happen if I put both the queens together would they fight?

This is a queen, maybe Monomorium. Nice find!
Try putting them together for a bit. If they squabble separate them.

Thanks! I put them together about 10 minutes ago they seem to be doing OK one queen is on the water cotton and the other is at the end of the cotton. The workers are just walking around. The workers are reddish with a black abdomen.
