There's no way any queen ant that size is digging a founding chamber this time of the year in Southern California, especially as cold as it is right now.

Stick your finger in it .  When I lived an San Diego you could often times get things like trapdoor spiders out of their holes by gently sticking a twig in or putting in some water... if you are dead set on getting it out, please keep in mind to try a less invasive way first so that you can return whatever it is back.

You're becoming AntMan , also, how do you embed them? Most people don't know, so if you're going to tell the, to fix something, at least tell them how.

The hole is a little too large in my opinion. I agree with JPS, probably a spider hole.

Actually, there have been several threads explaining and complaining about this issue. It's quite simple, and if you haven't figured it out yet, shame on you. There is a huge thread specifically about posting pictures. Nobody wants to click an external link, and that is why I fixed it.

Linking outside the forum is a security risk to the users. Kevin is right, and I didn't see anything in his post that came off harsh.

I don't click outside links either, and would have likely skipped this post if he didn't embed it for you.

Between XSS, exploit kits, url shortening; it just isn't worth the risk for some of us.
