My Camponotus sure are hibernating hard. They stopped laying eggs and foraging back in October.

Same with mine.

I should have some new ants in a week. I have 14 pupae now. And probably 40 eggs. 5 or 6 larvae waiting to pupate.

Should have my first nanitics soon. Ants are loving the new outworld with digging medium. Only 4 are digging the rest refuse to leave their spot. Although a drop of honey got them excited. Gasters are full.

Exciting way to end my 2016. I woke up today to find my 1st two nanitics. My colony has gone from 12 to 14 with 8 or 9 more due over the next week or so.
Whooohoo I'm a dad again lol

Hey all. My colony continues to grow. My nanitics seem to be adjusting quite nicely. 6 nanitics now. They are quite clumsy at first but seem to already have their own roles. I'm looking forward to the next 7 or so to hatch in the coming weeks.
18 total from my original 11.

You could even make a dome and attach it to all four areas.

Pretty simple actually. Just find containers you like the shape or size of and drill holes and add tubing. I recommend using a smaller drill bit then the tubing you are using so u get a snug fit. I have 3 grout chambers and one natural.I glue two lids shut and in hindsite I wouldn't do that again. Makes it tough to access and clean.make sure your lid's are tight fitting

I usually remove a lid and use about half of a medicine dropper in a chamber every two to 3 days. I rotate which chambers get water so I don't end up with mold. And I use small caps as drinking stations.
