Sanded grout for formicaruim?

Hello! I'm just asking a question ii only have sanded grout is it ok for making a ant formicaruim? I'm using crystals tutorial.

Yes, sanded grout is fine. You can mix it with crushed perlite to make it more absorbent if so desired.

I used unsanded alone, and a mixture of sanded and unsanded. The sanded grout is more brittle than unsanded grout, and not as smooth. I like mixing it most. The unsanded stuff is stronger, and the sanded stuff looks better.

Sanded Grout is pretty okay from what I know. I use it for my Plagiolepis.
