a week or two ago a t-storm with heavy rain came over flooded a s. invicta colony and when the rain let up i went out and found a bunch of ants floating in the water found some that were in a "ant ball" there were 2 to 4 "ant balls" some with eggs in them, i grabbed one it had a "future queen" in it, put her in something, checked on her the next morning she had a bunch of white things next to her, found out later in the day that those were eggs
note: there were no eggs with them when i grabbed them....
, also had 3 or 4 other ants with her, 2 this day she's still alive....
5-15-2015 -- the "other ants" died except one.....
--------
today 5-18-2015 -- moved her yesterday so i could watch/keep an eye on her, she made a nice place she likes (which is cool because it's at the front of the container, i keep a towel over it for darkness, she's still alive and well....

noticed yesterday when moving her (the container) there was another ant kinda pale looking and having trouble walking and she was picking it up carting it around...
