People in the US cannot buy queen ants online without a lot of paperwork and permits.  It would be (legally) easier to buy a queen from someone within the state you live.

People in the US cannot buy queen ants online without a lot of paperwork and permits.  It would be (legally) easier to buy a queen from someone within the state you live.

There is a lot of misinformation floating around on the internet, so it's understandable how you may be mistaken about this. The fact is, however, that the US laws prohibit the interstate transport of plant pests, not the online sale of queen ants.

There's a lot more detail to the law(s); but it's important to point out that Ants Canada's operation is perfectly legitimate, as it simply connects local buyers and sellers with one another, where they meet in person to exchange the ants.

Not entirely true either, in many states it is illegal to make cross county transfers as well.

Which is why I was clear to specify US law.  State and local laws may vary, but are also rarely encountered, especially in places outside of Florida and California.
