Shortly after winning Antscanada what is ant love contest, I decided I needed a break from ant keeping. I was super busy, and couldn't devote the time. I had roughly 100 queens and 10 colonies. Some of my journals are recorded in this section.

Now, returning to ant keeping I have some Camponotus pennsylvanicus, Formica sp., and Aphaenogaster sp. already.

Thanks for viewing.

Here is an unidentified colony of aphaenogaster. These were rescued from a log that was going to be burned. There are about 200 ants, but you wouldn't be able to tell with how snugly they fit in a test tube.

For some reason most of the blood they were found with were alates. I assume they must have nuptial flights early in the year. This species is a smaller than most I find in this genus in my area. So far, they are relatively

What reccomendations for a formicarium would you guys make for them? Last time I kept this genus in an inception chamber from THA.
