Awww that's cute. Does she have her own setup and queens?
Hmmm... I haven't cleaned in a bit and I do have plans to downsize my collection as they sell.
The only place I can keep them is my room, and as it is only 18C they require additional heat. I have my personal colonies on 15 watt heat cables on my dresser and shelf. My surplus or smaller colonies are all in a wine cooler with a heat cable in the bottom. The timer keeps it a nice 24C and the colonies are growing very quickly....
Wine cooler:
My very cluttered dresser and shelf, holding personal colonies or ones that need a bit of extra TLC.
I also prepare the food and nectar on the corner that I clean off when I need a few inches to work in.

Wow you have quite a collection of ants too. Very organized as well.
That's so sweet if you both made a hobby of making formicaria together. Bonding time. She could add a feminine creative touch to it .
Current Colonies:
Aphaenogaster tennesseensis (50 Workers)
Formica subsericea (5+ Workers)
Tetramorium caespitum (50+ Workers)
Parastic Lasius (15 Accepted Host Workers)
Crematogaster cerasi (10 + Workers)
Temnothorax sp. (70 + workers)
I dream of an uncluttered space.
As do I, and probably a lot of other people.
I dream of an uncluttered house. Despite my best attempts at organizing - it still hasn't happened yet.

How's this for an ant area after my recent tidal wave of queens. This used to be my kitchen floor...
Holy [censored]! I think you need a bigger house.

drew, I can't figure out how you manage to find the time to feed all of those colonies.
I have a hard enough time with 50 test tubes, 25% of which are in foraging areas for easy feeding.
You are going to have to start an ant zoo soon.

Well first of all, most of them right now are just fully-claustral queens. Not sure about a month from now though... haha.
This post was copied from another forum at someone's request - I would love any feedback you have! The setup has changed somewhat since this was put together but the main idea is still the same.

Hello all! Miles here, also known as the admin Miles Ants from the Facebook group. I have been asked many times about what my entire ant keeping setup looks like, and for a long time I have chosen not to share (mostly because it was messy or under construction). Well, that ends now! I will describe my setup in a soon to come video.
And no, I do not have pictures in the picture frames. I just got them and we have yet to get any printed.
I would love to hear what you guys think, and to answer any questions you may have.
Miles
