I'm hoping to get my 5 year old son a queen ant colony (medium size or larger) for his birthday which is 1/4.
Is there anyone in the PA area that has any queen ant colonies for sale?

Ummm... sorry I haven't met any people here from pennsylvania on here. Not to say there isn't, you could look on the member? http://www.formiculture.com/membermap/
Or you could try and find your own?
It appears that there is a couple of GAN farmers on the ants canada page in PA. You can shoot them an email and see if they have something that would work for you.
