A while back I bought this founding pogonomyrmex  colony, with two queens inside a formicaria and one larvae. However, I only that the ant queens are from the pogonomyrmex genus, but not the full species name.

If anyone is able to ID these ants please tell me, sorry if the pictures are a bit unclear.

Description:

-Semi-claustral

-Red/Brown coloring, with some black marks

-One black dot at each side of the thorax and the end of the gaster is black

--The gaster has lots of little hairs

-The ants where bought in Los Angeles, but not sure what specific habitat or location were the ants collected

Wasn't confident in that but it sure looks like it. I have to agree with CA

Yep, Pogonomyrex californicus, not sure about bicolor though.
