Kind of just gave up on this, but lets give this another shot. My Camponotus Floridanus colony currently has 75+ workers, with 100s of cocoons about to enclose. They are currently in one of Loops formicariums and out worlds. They don't eat much, which is worrying me. I fed them a super worm cut up which they didn't touch.. Then there is my Pheidole sp colony, with about 4 workers that had a die off because of lack of water, and some brood. I want them to survive so bad, but I'm not good at caring for ants clearly. I then have my Pseudomyrmex gracilis colony, with about 50+ workers who won't stop drinking water and eating protein. They are my more successful of them all. All other queens are fine. Any tips are appreciated, and if anyone wants pictures tell me.
Your Camponotus arnt eating? Wonder what's that about. Do you guys have a hibernation season down there?
Nope, its hot all the time. Only 1 gaster has food in it, and its scaring me!
That's really weird. Have they ever done this before?
What else have you tried offering? Different kinds of insects have different nutrition.
I believe that the ants in your area do have a dormant period, but it is nothing like my snowy winter so I can't help much in that regard. They shouldn't be going dormant with lots of pupae in the nest though.
That being said, if they only have pupae they won't eat much since they won't be feeding larvae. I know you commented on my bloated Camponotus colony - but keep in mind that my ants are used to having to stockpile for winter, so they are more prone to pretending that they are honeypot ants.
I would look up dspdrew's Camponotus journals since they came from a similar location.

I've offered meal worms, pill bugs, fruit flies, ear wigs etc. They have tons of eggs and larvae, most likely outnumbering the pupae. They all have black stomachs though..
try offering honey, or sugar water
