So I have a small colony of pheidole sp. They had 5 majors ( no minors ) and I checked on them today and I found the remains of a dead major. What do they need? A liquid ? Or protein? Thanks everyone

If they ate a major that means they need protein

Water, sugar and protein (dead insects, mealworms or so).

Ok thanks ill pop a insect in there soon. They are in a test tube setup. So they don't need water. But I give them sugar water every so often.

I don't know why everyone one is jumping to conclusions that they killed the major. She likely just died of old age. Did they actually eat her or is she just sitting away from the colony dead?

I removed her but she was all in parts like dismembered at the front of the test tube.

sounds like she just died. Sometimes when ants die they dismember them. While it is obviously a good idea to feed them, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
