Well, here's another suggestion.

Live updates! I hate having to keep refreshing my page for a message. I think notifications and messages should update live, and the tab should display the number of alerts like in the chatroom. This would be a lot to some users.

The chatroom should have a mention feature, like @username and @everybody. The chatroom messages are usually quiet and you wouldn't know someone is talking to you while in another window or directly to you in another tab. If your name was mentioned, like @Kevin, it would sound a little ding and that means you've been mentioned, look at chat. @everybody would sound a ding to everyone in the chatroom. You could possibly add a silencer button so you don't get notifications.
I think these two things would be a great addition to the forum. Let me know your opinions in the comments.

Unfortunately I don't write this software, so some of these suggestions will never be anymore than a dream. The only hope is that someone makes an add-in. As for the chat, I will tell you right now, unless we integrate a completely different chat platform, it's not going to change. Invision Power refuses to add any features to the chat. They don't even want to keep that functionality at all.

No it's not open, but you can write add-ins for it.

I agree. Being able to tag the person you're attempting to talk to in CHAT would be awesome. As for the live updates, i only wish i was popular enough to need something like that. Although, an email notification every time i get a PM works pretty well.
