Thanks everyone I gave them a fly and boy did they devour it!
I keep crickets and mealworms since I have a bearded dragon, tarantula and a praying mantis. But I wasn't sure if they would take them lol.
Right now I see 9 ants and a bunch of eggs. What portion and how often do you recommend feeding them? I'm just afraid that i put something and it rots and kills them since out of all the queens I was able to get this is the only one that made it all the way.
If the colony is still in a test tube I would recommend to not feed the ants a whole mealworm or cricket, but preferably a pre-crushed part such as a leg of a cricket. The ants would still need a source of sugar, like honey, because sugar is for the works, but the larvae need the protein. If your colony has an outworld or inhabits a small formicarium, then feed a pre-crushed insect. If you do not know how much to feed the ants, you should give your colony a cricket or worm one by one, until they lost interest in the food. I would suggest removing the insect a day after or immediately if it was not touch. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I cannot say your species is their, but at least try to check.
Good Luck with your colony.
