Hi my name is Esteban , i live in lima , a coastal city, and i really wasn't very interested in ants until a few weeks ago i came across with one video of ants of AntsCanada. I couldn't understand why , but i kept watching video after video; and by doing so my way of looking at ants changed a lot . Now i appreciate them more than ever , they are so tiny , but yet they have so much details in their bodies , so much complexity in their way of living . 

 

Well, it didn't take too long until i started to have dreams of having my own colony , and lucky me , we were just entering summer. However , i wanted to know first with species of ants lived near my house , and gather all information i could of them . So i've been feeding a group of ants that have been crossing on my window sill for the past 5 days.

 

i managed to take a video of them , and with this comes my first and not last noob question: Do you know the exact name of this ants?

That is Pheidole, that is about as good an Id as you going to get. And thanks for putting the image in your post and not a link some place else to see it.

Thanks for answering , and i'm glad you liked that detail , i was about to give up , because at first it only appeared the link,  but at the end i figured out how to put the video directly in my post.

Man, you're so lucky you get Pheidole around you. Me, I only get Linepithema humile xD

Try to find the mound dig it up, with Pheidole around you, you will be a very benevolent ant caretaker.
