Location: Black Star Canyon, Cleveland National Forest, Orange County, California.
Habitat: Along side a dirt road in an oak forest.
Coloration, hue and pattern: Red head, red thorax, black gaster.
Length: 3mm & 4mm.
Distinguishing characteristics: Set of spines. Colony seems to have 2 sizes of workers, which appear to be minors with regular sized heads, and majors with large heads.
