I was browsing youtube and found a DIY for a grout formicarium!

 

I have everything needed to make it.

 

Now, this is my first formicarium. How does the watering tunnel work? Do the ants need to have physical contact with water a puddle of water, or do they just need to be in a high humidity condition to remain hydrated?

I was wondering the same thing. I ended up doing this: http://www.formicult...nced-hydration/only without the chamois cloth. Hopefully that'll be enough.

Awesome, I didn't see that...  I'm gonna do it this way.

The ants just need the humidity.  The water will slowly soak through the grout.
