If she is spraying stuff make sure that whatever you have her in has good ventilation, queens of Formica [i know different species, but I'm going with what I get here] spray Formica acid [don't know if it's the same stuff as what your queen is spraying] and sometimes they can gas themselves out and end up killing themselves
Leo - Where did you find this "Pachycondyla" (now correctly know as Pseudoponera rufipes)? It's always a good idea to include the locality with your collecting posts.
I live in hong kong
she was near a water dam with another queen but the other one died
Yay egg!
she has a few middle sized larvae now
I guess she wasnt happy because she ate all her larvae
For some reason every time she gets good sized larvae she eats them
hopefully not I placed her in a dirt bow she has dug a few tunnels....
Today I went on a hike a caught two more that were out foraging for food near their founding chambers
If she is not mated, her larvae are all males, and she is likely to kill them. Make sure she has daily fresh insect protein, such as termites.
I can't find any....
Sadly one of the new queens has passed away i dunno what went wrong, she didn't even have fungus grow on her after leaving her there for a few days.
