2. Date of collection: 9-22-2016
3. Habitat of collection: City Center, crab apple trees nearby
4. Length: ~4-5 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Reddish Brown, smooth, lighter stripes on gaster
I'm pretty sure this is a queen even though her abdomen seems much smaller than the crematogaster I caught recently.
There is a sharp spike on the petiole (a standing node?)
Pretty small ant but she was winged and wandering and definitely looked like a queen.
These are literally the worst ant pictures ever taken by anybody and if it's impossible to ID I understand:
