I believe both of these may be male alates, second one was recovered from a kiddy pool, so wasn't moving much when I caught it...

 

1. Location of collection:                    Side of house

 

2. Date of collection:                            09-11-2016 3:30pm

3. Habitat of collection:                       grass yard surrounded by heavily wooded land

 

4. Length (from head to gaster):         ~4.7mm  

 

5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:       black

these look a lot like the Myrmica male alates i found a few days ago. check the antwiki.org file for Myrmica rubra and scroll down to the pictures of male alates.
